The New Wedding Month: May

Wedding makeup artists in the Philippines will sure be very busy in the coming months as the demand for their services is expected to peak. While June has always been considered as the wedding month, you might be surprised to know that most weddings in the Philippines occur in the month of May.

You read that right: May is the new wedding month! According to the latest report issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority last January 24, 2017, about Philippine Marriages, out of the 414,325 registered marriages in 2015, 12.2% of it occurred in the month of May. That is an average of 1628 Filipino weddings a day. Coming up a close second is the love month of February with a share of 11.1% and the month of April with 10.4%. These data were based on Certificate of Marriage that was registered at the City/Municipal Civil Registrars all over the Philippines and forwarded to PSA.

The so-called wedding month, June shares only 10.4% of the total number of marriages in 2015. November, on the other hand, is the month with the least share of 5.2% only, not even half of May’s number.

As brides who want everything to be perfect for their wedding, we can say that we can greatly make use of this statistic to plan out what would be the most convenient options that they can take for their wedding.
